The NKY Makerspace, in conjunction with Boone County Schools has developed an internship program to be filled by students from Ignite Institute and/or Boone County School District. The duties that the position entails are as follows:

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Coordinator/Makerspace Coordinator.

Job Overview
This position will assist the Makerspace Coordinator with field trips and equipment in the NKY Makerspace working to take over leadership in areas of interest to the intern.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading elementary and middle school field trips, including curriculum development and content delivery (both in person and online presentations)
• Create videos to support programming
• Marketing efforts including NKY Makerspace branding and event flyers; contacting teachers, event sponsors, and volunteers;
• Support website, newsletter and social media updates and content development
• Independently research, learn, maintain, and utilize Makerspace equipment and programs including but not limited to 3D printers, design programs, robotics, electronics, and photography equipment
• Update technology as needed including laptops and tablets
• Contribute to the organization and presentation of the World Maker Expo

Other Duties

• There may be an occasional evening, weekend, or after school extracurricular events
• Assist Ignite Institute with school-wide projects as needed
• Provide new, creative ideas to improve the NKY Makerspace
